FIFA 16 PS4 – Serie B Midseason Review (Season 3)

We have reached the midway point in season three of the FIFA16 Serie B league. After two seasons of heartbreak with Chelsea, Commish Danny is trying to push through and earn his long-awaited promotion to Serie A. He has chosen to be stubborn again, sticking with the Blues, and so far, it has paid off. Danny leads the way with 19 points as we head into the second half of the season, with one of our new players, Eddie (Barcelona), nipping at his heels with 18 points. Jeezy (PSG) has gotten off to a strong start as well. After being an afterthought the first two seasons, he finds himself in third with 16 points. After that, we have a mess.

There is a five-way tie for positions 4th through 8th in the table, with all of those teams having 13 points. All are currently headed to the Europa League, but the goal is of course to finish in the top four and earn a coveted spot in Serie A. Skyfall (Roma) and Dr. Inception (Real Madrid), two more of the league’s newcomers, are among the five teams jockeying for that 4th spot. Chino (Zenit) is here as well. He started in Serie B in year one, earned his promotion to Serie A for year two, then got embarrassed and sent back down to the minors for year three. Chino is hoping to make it back to the big leagues for next season and earn back the respect of his peers, but so far, that has not happened.

In the lower half of the table, the teams all the way down to 14th still have a realistic shot at promotion. That’s how bunched up it is. Cash (Liverpool) is in that 14th spot but he is only five points out of 4th. Teams buried this low will need to go on a big winning streak AND get serious help because a lot of teams stand between them and the top four. Perhaps the top eight and a Europa berth is a more realistic goal. Kev (Manchester City) and Bahanag (Inter Milan) only have five and three points respectively. Barring a miracle, these two teams are completely out of the mix and just playing for pride during the second half of the season.
