3 & Out : The Road To The Playoffs

It’s been an interesting season in 3&O thus far. But in the words of the Legend Jim Ross, “Business Is About To Pick Up!” as this season’s Super Bowl winner will receive the final spot in this years WGL Madden Tournament of Champions. So as you can see, the stakes are high for a playoff spot and a potential run at the ring and the final spot.

With 1 month remaining in the season(in Madden terms), here’s a recap of the first 13 weeks of this season.

Several mainstays have continued to lead their division including WeavusChrist and his Lions, Jefe2416 and his Broncos, and Tone and his Seahawks who have won 30 out of there last 31 games.

We’ve also seen some perennial powers come back to reclaim their throne like JWil412 and his cardinals, Schwick with the Raiders/Crusaders, and the always competitive FlaStateOfMind with Washington.

We can’t forget the upstarts who are making a run in iamATMboi with the saints, Stevie and the Eagles, sim newcomers ItsDely turning around a depleted Steelers team, AyMrCarter who’s keeping the Browns in the mix.

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention VIP Papi23 in this as well. While new to 3&O and not in playoff contention this year, he’s taken over the Vikings/Beats and won 6 of 8.

I failed to mention iADCook who took over a terrible Rams team, but has already staked his claim that he will be taking the division from Tone and the Seahawks, that’s going to be fun to watch.

Getting back to the playoffs, dotmoe06 and the bills control their destiny in the AFC east. He said several times that the only reason he lost the division last season was due to Nick Foles injury, and he is proving this right.

The AFC South is a 2 man race again between QCobb Texans and MrRodgers1 Colts, both who have had up and down seasons. The Texans came out the gate on fire winning 6 in a row before going on a tough losing streak that had circumstances. This allowed the Colts to get back in the race who have there own 6 game winning streak. Looks like it’ll come down to week 17 for the 3rd straight season. Also, watch out for WillieHeemin to make a run at the division next year, he’s as prolific a passer as there is, but will need to find balance.

The AFC North is the best race of them all as its 3 teams jockeying for 1-2 playoff spots. ItsDely and potential MVP and OROY QB Griffin Redmon looked to wrap things up until TunezWGL stepped up with a recent HUGE win with the Bengals. TunezWGL seems to have the Bengals on the right track, and considering his track record, it will tough to doubt he misses the playoffs and doesn’t make a run. Not lurking far behind is AyeMrCarter and the Browns who have gotten things going after a tough beginning of the year. This division will be the one to watch the last month of the season.

In the AFC West, the Crusaders came into this season with a purpose, determined to get to the Super Bowl and they are playing like it. At 11-1, they have all but wrapped up the first round bye and home-field advantage for the playoffs and if you want to get to the Super Bowl in the AFC, it looks like it will go through LA. Last years AFC representative Jefe2416 and the Broncos are back at it again and look to return to complete their unfinished business. They have the possible MVP in Cam Newton and most talented roster, but will they be able to cross the finish line this year? Still fighting for a playoff spot is SpanishSavage who is 8-5 but just lost a crucial division game to the improving Je La Soul and the Chargers. Will this loss prove to damage his playoff chances or will the also improved chiefs and potential OROY WR Golden be able to sneak in again.

The NFC East could arguably be the toughest division of users top to bottom in 3&O history, but two have separated from the pack and look determined to make a run at the trophy. Stevie and the Eagles do it with a stifling defense and timely big plays. FlaStateOfMind does it with an explosive offense and a solid defense. Mark your calendars for the Week 16 matchup between these 2, likely for division but you better believe Munchatr0n and his Giants and Brannin5 and his Cowboys would like to do nothing more than spoil this.

The NFC North has been owned by the polarizing WeavusChrist and the Lions the last 3 seasons including this one. Like him or not, his record has to be respected as he is preparing to wrap up the division again and hopes to make a run at the Lombardi trophy. While he has dominated the division, that could come to an abrupt end next year with the improved Bears and CMG Zilla, ViP Papi 23 needing a good draft with the Beats, and rumblings of new ownership coming to Green Bay in the name of AlfieTrell. This division is clearly on the rise.

In somewhat of a surprise, in the NFC South iamATMboi and the Saints has taken a 1 game lead over perennial powerhouse OzzieWGL and the Panthers. This race will be fun to watch as they are also in a potential race for the final wild card and the other for homefield advantage. And although it’s been a tough year, expect a major comeback next season from ChefWaites and the Diablos, I won’t bet against it.

Lastly, the NFC West is led by Tone and the Seattle Seahawks again. Looking to lock up division, home-field, first round bye, and stave off JWil and the Cardinals, its difficult to bet against him making a return trip to the Super Bowl. However, do not count out JWil412 and the Cardinals. Rebounding from missing the dance last year, and known yearly as one of the best passers around, the Cards are 9-3 and will surely seek revenge on the Lions and make a deep playoff run.
