Manchester City Forward Sergio Aguero (2 goals, 1 assist)

Tuesday brought us a thrilling clash in the Champions League Round of 16 between English side Manchester City and the current league leaders in France, Monaco. It was end to end action throughout, with Manchester City overcoming two separate one-goal deficits in a wild second half to win 5-3. Sergio Aguero showed just why he is one of the top strikers in the world. He leveled the score 2-2 with a goal in the 58th minute and again equalized for Manchester City in the 71st minute. His second goal was a sensational volley into the right corner from a set piece. Aguero also assisted on the fifth and final goal, putting the ball on a platter for Leroy Sane to finish into an empty net.

The result last night was a huge triumph for Manchester City. Their defense was repeatedly carved open by Monaco, but they struggled to put some key chances away. The turning point came in the 50th minute when Radamel Falcao failed to convert a penalty kick that would have put the visitors up 3-1 with some very important away goals in the first leg of the contest. The save by Willy Caballero swung the momentum to Manchester City, and eight minutes later, Aguero put away his first goal of the match. The task is not yet complete for Manchester City though. They must now travel to Monaco and take care of business in the second leg. Even a two-goal lead is not safe against the high-scoring French side. And thanks to their three away goals, Monaco will very likely prevail if the score is tied on aggregate.  The second leg in three weeks will definitely be one worth tuning in to.
