WGW Money in The Bank Preview

Welcome back, WGW Universe… It’s time for Money In The Bank! This is a night where the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been here in WGW. Six men have an opportunity to rise from nothing to sit on top of the world. Two champions have the chance to either double their bounty, or leave empty handed. And The Boss is at risk of losing everything he’s worked to obtain.

The champ Russ Snow will defend his title in a triple threat match against the other current WGW champions, but will Joe and Vertigo have titles coming into this match?

It’s been well-documented that World Heavyweight Champion Russ “The Boss” Snow has not only defeated every challenger he’s faced–he’s dominated them. Having sidelined the previous champ indefinitely, the Board had been at an impasse for finding a credible challenger to his title. The solution was this: have the World Champ defend against the Intercontinental Champion Vertigo…. AND the Pure Champion, Joe West in a Triple Threat match! The deck is seemingly stacked against the Champion, as he doesn’t have to be involved in the decision to lose his title. However, there is a catch…

Will Joe be able to focus on this match knowing what's in store later?

Joe “The Prodigy” West won’t be well-rested going into his World Title match. He might not even be the Pure Champion anymore. That’s because he has to defend his title against the only man to have pinned Russ Snow in months: Jordan Todd. The Pure Champ and JT Money have shown a great respect for one another, even teaming up against The Management recently, but does all that go out of the window when gold is on the line?

Double Dragon has a chance to have a wonderful night, Can Damien do his part?

Intercontinental Champion Vertigo won’t have an easy night, either: he will be defending his title against a resurgent Damien Obsidian! The Demon, with the Seventh Sanctum’s backing, has remained confident… But he has a tall task ahead of him if he plans to not only retain against the Shadow Ninja but also withstand his lightning-like kicks and recover in time for his second match tonight.

The biggest ladder match of the year is here! Who will be Mr. Money In the Bank?

The biggest ladder match of the year is here! Who will be Mr. Money In the Bank?

The “Money In The Bank” Ladder Match–where the winner earns a contract for a world title match to be “cashed in” at any time he chooses–has a long history of being the starting point for a competitor’s ascension into main event superstardom: the man that can capture the coveted briefcase almost always goes on to become an eventual World Champion. Tonight, six men set their sights upward as they battle for recognition, redemption and opportunity. There’s Real Deal Ricky, the eternal optimist aiming to redeem himself after being traded away from Smackdown. There’s also Luthor King, who’s looking to exact vengeance against the entire Smackdown roster for being ostracized and traded to RAW. Landon Kelly earned his spot when he defeated The Pharaoh and banished him from RAW once and for all–only for their paths to cross once again when the Ruler of Egypt qualified on Smackdown. Miles Legend hopes to separate himself from the proverbial pack on his roster by grabbing the gold briefcase. Rounding out the match, we have Crossfit Duggus, the most enigmatic, erratic, charismatic character in WGW today. Who will rise to the occasion–literally–and earn the right to challenge the Champion?

Can the Sanctum win when it counts?

Can the Sanctum win when it counts?

Rival factions Seventh Sanctum and The Management have been jockeying for power and influence here in WGW and to date, MGMT has maintained their dominance with control over the World Heavyweight title and the Tag Titles. While Vertigo looks to knock Russ Snow from his throne, Slade and Bowen (the self-proclaimed Beautiful One) look to snatch the Tag Titles from Buck Nasty and Solomon “The Assassin” Striker.

Ian Jacobs vs Mystery Opponent.

Ever since Kevin Youngblood went down to injury, the brash superstar Ian Jacobs has made it a mission of sorts to “eulogize” the Lionheart everywhere he goes. WGW CEO Shaggy McMahon has taken a personal offense to this blatant disrespect of WGW’s first World Champion, and has ordered The X-Factor to compete in an Extreme Rules match tonight…against a mystery opponent of the CEO’s choosing!

The outspoken “Wiseass” Jay Omega is never one to hold his tongue…and lately, he’s seemingly set his wrath upon one superstar: WALLACE. Their rivalry has escalated, and the RAW GM has decided to let these two vent their aggression on each other–in a No Holds Barred match!
