WGW Presents : The Shoot with Kevin Youngblood

Ladies and gentlemen, It is I Duggus Cole here to bring you another edition of The Shoot. Last time I graced my viewers presence, I gave you the inside scoop on what was to come in WGW. Since then, a draft has taken place, the first pay-per-view event of the year took place with Battleground, but most importantly, WGW crowned it’s first World Heavyweight Champion. After a grueling tournament featuring the best of the best LionHeart Kevin Youngblood was victorious over Mike C this past sunday at Battleground. After the event, I was able to reach out to the new champ and get his thoughts on his match, the future of the company, and evertyhing else in between.

I see you’ve got some new hardware on your shoulder, How’s it feel to be the first WGW World Heavyweight Champion?

KYB-Surreal. I’ve prepared for this moment in my life and I’m still in shock man. I got back into the locker room and I was in awe of it all. It’s moments like this that define your career and I’m honored to be WGW’s first Heavyweight Champion!

The Lionheart was RAW's first pick of the WGW Draft

The Lionheart was RAW’s first pick of the WGW Draft

Before your match with Mike C you were selected as RAW’s first pick of the WGW draft. Did that motivate you more to bring the belt to RAW? While also sticking it to SmackDown GM Duggus Bischoff for not drafting you with his first pick?

KYB-The way I see it, it didn’t matter where I got picked, but, I’d be lying if I didn’t enjoy pinning SmackDown’s #1 pick and walking out WGW champion. I’m excited to bring the title to RAW and to be seen as a leader for the Red Brand for, hopefully, the foreseeable future.

With being the World Heavyweight Champion, even though you were drafted to raw, you are a part of both rosters while champion. Try not to be bias and give me your analysis of each brand’s perspective roster?

KYB- WGW has some of the best talent I’ve seen in along time. I’ve wrestled everywhere, from Mexico, Japan, the U.K., Abu Dhabi, and even back home in Canada but nothing can top what we have here. SmackDown has a few guys I would like to get in the ring with, “Real Deal Ricky”, Vertigo, Luthor King, just to name a few. And I can’t forget RAW either. Pharoah, my buddy Landon Kelly, DCP, And X. Both shows have a lot of talent and I’m looking forward to facing any and all comers.

Will you be competing on both shows?

KYB- Well as long as I hold this title, I don’t see why not. I’m up for the challenge and I hope my opponents are too.

Will you give Mike C the first shot at the title? or does he need to get to the back of the line?

KYB- I feel that Mike C has earn the right to face me again for the title, but that isn’t up to me. Whatever the higher ups decide I’ll be ready to take on any and all comers.

You’re the champ. The floor is yours to send a message to WGW Raw and SmackDown rosters.

KYB- Since I’ve started my wrestling career I have definitely gone through my ups and downs. I’ve faced my adversity and my naysayers but managed to do it the right way. I may not be the biggest, or the baddest, have the witty catchphrases, or even have my own group of yes men. But, what I lack in those areas, I make up for it by leaving everything I have in that ring night after night. *Pats his WGW heavyweight title* This belt proves that I am the best and I will continue to be the best at what I do. So to all the boys in the back and to the fans in attendance, as of now, what you are witnessing is the era of the Lionhearted, and I’m just getting started BAY BAY!!!!!
