Ahhhhh!!! Madden Leagues are in full effect and this is by far one of my favorite things to do. Power rankings are always exciting because they give you an idea what is going on, and who’s catching on fast. Primetime Players League is off to a fun start and is sure to get more interesting as the season goes on. It may be too early to tell who is packing it in and who feels that have a chance in the dance but it’s always fun to see how everyone stacks up every quarter. So here we go, the first edition of the Madden PPL Power rankings.

The top 10 were chosen by a group of 7, while the remainder was completed by one person.

*First place votes in parentheses, Total voter points included.

1. Colts-Tunez(4) 67-It will be highly difficult to have a better first quarter of the season than the Colts had. Giving up single digit points per game, only second to the Falcons in defense, and Andrew Luck leading the offense. The Colts look razor sharp and do not look to be stopping for anyone. A big showdown with the Texans looms for Indianapolis that can go a long way for the division crown.

2. Falcons-Daryle(3) 65-When you think Atlanta, you think Matty Ice, Julio, Roddy. I’m here to tell you rethink. The best defense in the PPL led by rookies Vic Beasley, Ross Cockrell and youngsters Dezmon Southward and Trufant, this team does not allow red zone touchdowns. You may move the ball but you don’t get in the end zone. This defense is a treat to watch and are looking like the NFC frontrunners.

3. Bears-TDPass 54-If you sit down and talk to this owner/coach, you will know this former QB believes in all facets of football, and the Bears special teams is putting on quite a show. With multiple kick/punt returns for TDs, the 7th rated offense that includes Kevin White, and a defense playing lights out, the Bears are beginning to look like the favorites for the NFC North.

4. Bills-Fla 40-Led by Odell Beckham Jr and Tyrod Taylor, the Bills bring in the 4th best offense that is downright tough to stop. The defense is no joke either giving up less than 250 pass yards a game.

5. Steelers-Jai 36– With an opportunistic defense and prolific passing attack led by none other than Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown, the Steelers look poised for their usual Super Bowl run.

6. Saints-Goose 34-The saints are possibly the most well balanced team in the PPL. A stingy defense and 7th best passing attack are hoping to lead the Saints back to the promised land.

7. Eagles-Adam 29-One of the shockers of the season thus far, the Eagles are sitting atop the NFC East. Reviving the career of Wes Welker and the 8th best rushing attack leading the way, will the Eagles be able to sustain success come money time?

8. Seahawks-Weav 25-Possibly the preseason favorite in PPL, the Seahawks are winning games with the 4th best rushing attack and a ridiculously good defense led by the LOB. The key for this team will be can they improve on a pedestrian 141 passing yard a game.

9. Broncos-Ozzie 16-After a shocking loss to the Chiefs in Week 2, the Broncos seem to be rounding into midseason form early. A big matchup with the Raiders in week 5 could help prove if Denver is still the measuring stick in the AFC West. A well balanced offense will keep any defense guessing.

10. Panthers-Hodge 15-Led by the top rushing offense in the PPL, Carolina forces you to play there game. Slow, Methodical, bloody football. It’s working. They are in the toughest division in the PPL so they will need to keep pace. But with only 6 tds given up in 4 games, who’s to say they won’t.

11. Browns-Marlo -Led by a fast defense, only allowing 71 rush yards a game and the two headed monster of Robert Turbin and Duke Johnson on offense, the Brown look like they will be around. But they must learn to finish games first.

12. Lions-Don -Stafford, Megatron and Abdullah lead the offense, but his team may need to make a move to sure up the secondary to make a deep run into the playoffs with a passing defense that gives up a lot of yards weekly. Will they run out of points?

13. Dolphins-Bose/Tre-The Dolphins are under new ownership so the book is still out but there’s a possibility the momentum will keep up and lead Miami to the playoffs.

14. Bengals-Zachary-The most prolific passing attack in the PPL, this Bengals offense is difficult to stop. Dalton, Green, Eifert leading the charge.

15. Chiefs-DeeJay -A quick passing game, Jamaal Charles leading the 2nd most explosive offense in the PPL. Ferocious defense and you have the Chiefs who I fully expect to be around in December.

16. Cowboys-Jef -Arguably the biggest disappointment of the first 4 games, this team was expected to be top 5 all year. But after completely changing the team and getting rid of its stars, will the Cowboys make a run? They did just pull out the proverbial Big Joker acquiring Tom Brady

17. Raiders-Tezzo -At 2-2 some may be shocked that the raiders are .500. This team is for real and will challenge for a playoff spot. Latavius Murray leads the league in rushing.

18. Chargers-JayB -After a slew of trades, the Chargers looked to be tanking for next season. Think again, RG3 makes enough plays and a defense led by Corey Liuget, Phil Taylor, and Eric Weddle can play vs anyone.

19. Texans-Slim-An already scary front 7 added Greg Hardy to help solidify the team, with a huge division game coming up, the Texans look to prove the division will not be a walk in the park.

20. Rams-DJ Q-With a veteran owner who plays old school football, the Rams will go as far as the Front Four and Todd Gurley take them. Beware AFC West.

21. Ravens-Shard-A veteran laden ball club that loves the power run game. Hovering at .500, if Flacco get going, watch out.

22. Jets-CommishTrell-In a shock to many, the Jets are here. This was a favorite to make a deep playoff run this year, they now have their franchise trigger man in Teddy Bridgewater. Add him to a stifling defense, it’s a matter of time before the wins come

23. Vikings-Bo -The most entertaining owner in any league I promise you, and he believes in nothing but SPEED. Getting Mariota will fit his scheme but will it be enough?

24. Washington-Stevie -Washington ended the rg3 era before it began bringing in Dallas vet Tony Romo. But a little bad luck and a struggling defense has them here.

25. Cardinals-Spanish Savage -a league favorite owner who is not ashamed to admit to rebuilding. This Cardinals team has a wealth of speed, can it translate into big plays?

26. 49ers-Munch -The buzz out in the bay is all about the rookie Chris Conley who looks poised to win OROY. A great offense, it’s time for the defense to catch up.

27. Pats-Briz -The Patriots made a huge move sending Tom Brady to Dallas and ushering in the Jimmy Garrapolo era, will this lead to instant improvement or full rebuilding.

28. Titans-Larry bka Yancey -With the controversial trade essentially swapping the top two picks, the Titans look to make a move in the final 12 games.

29.Giants-Prophet -After some reshuffling, the defense is is playing well, the offense will need to catch up and these Giants can make a run.

30.Packers-Spottio -One of the most talented teams can’t seem to put it together just yet. But with ARod, Lacy, and Nelson don’t count them out yet.

31. Bucs-DruDizz -With Colin Kaepernick, Adrian Peterson and Brandon Marshall on offense, it’ll be just a matter of time before the offense gets going.

32. Jaguars-Shaggy -This team may be a season away. They are young and need weapons.
