WGL Presents : End Of the Year Madden League Tournament
Hello all! Madden season is among us and we know all the Madden users are getting hyped and ready to play.
Gonna get right to it on this post and let everyone know what this is about. As you all know, this is our first year at WGL having Madden leagues with all different users in each league. So that gives us the luxury of trying something exciting. The goal of the leagues has usually been to play from one Madden to the next. But recently that hasn’t happened due to a variety of different reasons. So this year, around that time (Usually June-July) when the leagues are slowing down, we will have our End of the Year Madden League tournament!
Last Madden we had the Tournament of Champions which put all the users who won a Super Bowl in our Madden Leagues against each other. This year, we’re gonna do it a little different. The tournament will be a NCAA-style 64 user (32 on PS4) tourney where your seeding is determined by what you do in your respective league. Wins, losses, division titles, playoff wins, Super Bowl wins, etc., will all go on your résumé and will determine where you’re seeded in the tournament or if you miss the tournament altogether.
Since we have two leagues on PS4, the top 16 users from each league will make the end of the year tournament. And on XB1 since we have three leagues, the top 20 users from each league will make the tournament and there will be 4 “Play-In” games to determine the last 4 participants in the tournament.
The commish/admins from your league will be documenting your record at the end of each season. In a situation where somebody has to leave a league for personal reasons, they keep their record from the time they left in case they come back. Any new users who enter the league record will be tracked from the time they enter the league. “Big wins/Bad losses” will also be tracked. So if you’re considered a top user and you lose to one of the lower users, that may effect your tourney seeding. Or if you’re a lower user who gets some wins against some of the top users, that may be what pushes you into the tourney or play-in game.
Now, ALL GAMES ARE IMPORTANT. Not only for you in your league but also for your seeding in the End of the Year tourney or if you’ll make the tourney at all. We believe this will crank up the competition and trash talk in the leagues even more. Who makes/misses the tournaments will be revealed on a “Selection Sunday” style podcast in June.
