NHL 16 Game Play Feature Impressions

I’m all for simulation and realistic gaming, so excuse me if I’m a little excited but the new game play features for NHL 16 honestly sound fantastic. Not only are they continuing to add game modes that have been missed but trying to appease to the solo offline players is something I always like to hear.

Since the implementation of the Skills Trainer on Madden 15, EA SPORTS is looking to teach their players not only how to play the game, but also the basic essentials of the sports. This year EA SPORTS is adding in game tutorials to NHL as well as FIFA to not only help beginners but also experienced gamers of the respective franchise. Whether its learning the proper time to pass, slap shot or wrist shot, EA SPORTS is looking to not only improve gamers experience and skill level, but their level of intelligence of the sport as well.

I am personally most excited to see how the complete control will be implemented. I am excited for the precision skating, puck pickup, and goalie controls and hopefully we can get a feeling of weight, agility and strength on the ice that leads to realistic movement and differences in players abilities. With me being the ultimate simulation type guy, realistic abilities are most important in realistic results. I am excited to see EA’s engine in action because as of now, it truly looks like it will FEEL like hockey.

I am also excited for Be A GM mode especially if the new skating and goalie controls are implemented properly. Having 10 different hockey leagues with proper game play could bring out the ultimate in gaming experience as hockey is an extremely fast paced game and a deep franchise mode could cause gamers to get lost for hours wheeling and dealing.

Other things like the enhanced arena atmosphere, mascots, and playoff beard will just enhance the environment and feel, and NHL 16 looks to be a fun and exciting game.
