Bottom of the 9th User Interview: Jae-Gee

We are joined by our Texas Rangers owner Jae-Gee this week all the way from Toronto, Canada. I’m loving the different locations all of our users come from.

Josh: Hey man, thanks for taking the time. What would you say are your top 3 favorite games if you could narrow it down.

Jae-Gee: NHL, FIFA, and MLB.

Josh: Oh cool, in that order? what is it that you like about the different games?

Jae-Gee: Nah, not in order. I like all of them equally. NHL has a game mode called GM Connected (basically the same as Online Franchise for MLB) and it’s amazing. FIFA: just have always liked their games since Sega Genesis days. The game just never gets stale to me. I’ve bought it almost ever year. MLB: love the presentation. Easily the best out of all the sports games. And now that they added Online Franchise I’m even more of a fan of the game.

Josh: NHL and FIFA are definitely some solid games so I could understand your reasoning for having them in your top three. I assume GM Connected is like Connected Franchise in Madden and if so I could definitely see that being tons of fun. I haven’t bought an NHL game in a while but I’m pretty excited for NHL 16.

Jae-Gee: Yeah similar to Madden, I don’t play Madden much though, haha I lose most of the time.

Josh: How funny. Are you a football fan?

Jae-Gee: Yeah I watch football. I’m not a huge fan though. We don’t have a team here. I’m a die hard Toronto sports fan. I ride with my teams. I can’t root for any other teams

Josh: Oh okay, yeah I can definitely understand you there. You think it makes it difficult to be a fan of the NFL since you don’t have a home team?

Jae-Gee: Yeah definitely. I go to a bunch of Raptors, Maple Leafs, and Blue Jays games throughout the year and they’re always really fun so it would definitely be nice to have a home team in football. It’s a little tough being a Toronto sports fan, I haven’t seen my team win a championship or even play in a finals!

Josh: Yeah that can for sure be a little tough. I never thought about it like that before, the Lakers are always winning something. How are you feeling about the league? Enjoying the Rangers?

Jae-Gee: This is easily the best league I’ve been in. Well run. Really enjoy the fact that there’s power rankings/interviews which are great ideas for the league. As for my Rangers we can’t score…..grinding out wins with good pitching and hoping that carries us to a playoff berth

Josh: Yeah seems like offensive ratings seem to matter a decent amount, sounds like my team if I’m gonna win a game its likely to be 1-0. And thank you much. We really all do appreciate it. You’ve been a great help as well helping us find guys for the league and keeping the league full.

Jae-Gee: No problem man. Like I said, I like how league is run so if I can help keep it active I definitely will.

Josh: Has anybody on your team surprised you & played exceptionally well for you so far this season?

Jae-Gee: Derek Holland. My 5th starter. He’s been pitching out of his mind.

Josh: Oh really? What’s his best pitch?

Jae-Gee: knuckle curve. That’s the strikeout pitch.

Josh: Oh yeah, a good breaking ball is a killer. Anybody you expected more out of?

Jae-Gee: Yeah Prince Fielder isn’t doing his job in the cleanup spot at all. May have to move him down.

Josh: Yeah seems like he may have fell off the cliff a bit in real life too honestly. He used to be on of the premiere hitters in the game. What keeps you interested in a league?

Jae-Gee: Activity mainly. And a good commish is important too. But I’d rather people be more active than say super intense competition. People that are willing to grind it out through the tough seasons and really enjoy the game are what make a great league.

I never played on legend before this league and now I only enjoy playing on legend. I can actually throw the ball down the middle on legend without getting hammered now.

Josh: I’m glad playing on the harder difficulty is at least improving your game. I know that its a little difficult but if people are getting better at least it is worth it.

With the trade deadline approaching is there anything you’re looking to adding to help that playoff push?

Jae-Gee: You can never have too much offense but I think I’m gonna ride it out with my team right now and re-evaluate in the offseason.

Josh: Yea that’s where I’m at with my team, could use some offense but think I’ll stick with what we’ve got for the most part. Hey man thanks for taking the time to do this for us. And again really appreciate you doing what you can to keep the league full.
